Inkryptus brand

The marks, the colours and the rules for using them. Take what you need; the kit is one download.

The marks

Three shapes. Pick by the space you have, not by preference: the horizontal lockup is the default, the vertical one is for a narrow column, and the crown alone is for anywhere too small to read a word.

The default. Use it wherever there is room for the name to be read.

Crown

The mark on its own, for an avatar, a favicon, or anything under 32px.

One colour

For a single-colour print, an engraving, or a surface that already carries a colour of its own. Use the amber on white or near-white only: on a mid grey it drops below the contrast a mark needs to read.

Colours

The three colours the marks are drawn with, and the two tints of the amber the interface carries. Green and red are states, success and failure, and are not brand colours.

Typeface

Inter, the variable cut, self-hosted. It carries the whole site: headings, body and figures.

Buy your first crypto, hold it, and earn on it.

Inter is open source under the SIL Open Font License, so it is yours to use too. Where you cannot load it, any neutral grotesque is closer to right than a serif.

Suggested usage

  • Use the files as they are, at any size.
  • Pick the treatment that contrasts with the background behind it.
  • Keep the crown and the name in the proportion the file sets.
  • Use the crown alone when the name would be too small to read.
The dashed frame is the margin: the height of the crown, on every side.

Things to avoid

Each one below is the real mark with the mistake applied to it.

Stretching or squashing it.
Rotating it.
Recolouring it.
Adding a shadow, a glow or an outline.
Blurring or softening it.
Fading it until it barely reads.
  • Redrawing the crown, or setting the name in another typeface.
  • Locking it up with another logo as though the two were one mark.
  • Using it in a way that suggests Inkryptus endorses or is partnered with you.

Questions

May I use the Inkryptus logo?
Yes, to refer to Inkryptus: in an article, a talk, a comparison, a review, a list of the platforms you use. Download the file here and place it unmodified. You may not use it in a way that suggests Inkryptus endorses, sponsors or is partnered with you when it is not, and you may not use it as your own icon, avatar or app icon.
Which file do I use?
Match the treatment to the background. Use the default on a light background and the negative on a dark one. Over a photograph, a video or a solid colour, use a monochrome. Under 120px of width, drop the wordmark and use the crown on its own. SVG everywhere it is accepted, since it stays sharp at any size.
May I use the INKY token icon in a listing?
Yes. Exchanges, wallets, explorers, price trackers and portfolio apps may use the crown as the icon for the INKY token, at any size, with no permission needed. Use the orange treatment on a light interface and the white one on a dark interface, and keep the artwork itself unchanged.
May I use "Inkryptus" or "INKY" in a name, a handle or a domain?
No. A name, a username, a domain, a social handle or an app title containing Inkryptus or INKY reads as an official account, and that is the impersonation people lose money to, and how to check what is really us is its own page. Naming us in your description is fine: "price alerts for INKY, an independent project" says the same thing and is honest about who you are.
I run a community group about Inkryptus. What may I use?
Use the logo to say what the group is about, and state in the name and the description that the group is unofficial. Do not run it as if it were us: no support in our name, no announcements presented as ours, and never a wallet address, an airdrop or a giveaway. We never ask for funds or for a seed phrase, anywhere.
May I put the crown on merchandise?
Not without written permission. The mark on a product reads as a product we made, which is the one thing these files cannot say on their own. Write to us first.
May I build something from the mark?
Not from the mark itself. Redrawing the crown, restyling it, animating it or setting the name in another typeface makes a second mark that people will read as ours, and two versions of a mark is the same as none. If you need a format that is not here, ask for it instead of making it.
The colours here do not match what I see in the app.
Take the values from this page. The amber and the green are fixed across light and dark, and they are the values printed here. Everything else in the product is a theme token and does change with the theme, so a screenshot is never a colour reference.
